Michael HUANG (Moderator)
CEO and Publisher of the Sharp Point Publishing GroupMichael Huang founded the Sharp Point Publishing Group in 1982, and to this day has over 30 years of experience in publishing and media. Aside from his role as CEO and publisher of the Sharp Point Publishing Group, Huang has also served two consecutive terms as President of the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association. He received the KingStone Publisher of the Year Award in 2014, and the Ministry of Culture’s Golden Comic Award for Special Contributions in 2015.
Over the past 10 years, Huang has endeavored to aid the growth of original Taiwanese novelists and manga artists. His efforts have guided many shoujo manga artists to success, and their creations have received multiple Golden Comic Awards. In addition, Huang has led his team in actively competing in various international exhibitions, and promoted original Taiwanese pieces, authorizing publications in Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia, China and other regions. Sharp Point’s published works have also entered in various international evaluations and appraisals, receiving nominations and awards in China’s Golden Dragon Award Original Animation and Comic Competition, as well as first place in Japan’s International Manga Award, bringing prestige to our country. With the arrival of the digital era, Huang strove to exceed the limits of paper and ink, creating the Comic Star website in 2010, providing a larger platform for creators to share their work. The website is also home to the Sharp Point Original Manga Contest, and hosts free manga art courses, fostering the growth of over a hundred manga artists to this day. Comic Star received commendation from the government in 2011, in the form of the Digital Publishing Golden Tripod Award for Innovative Digital Publishing of the Year. Huang believes that only original creativity can bring about greater imagination and energy, and wishes to give his all to the manga publishing industry and culture of Taiwan.

Producer, Fuji Television Network, Inc.Ken Murase is a producer with the Fuji Television Network. Notable works that he produced include Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High, Nobunaga Concerto. He has also served as a producer for the center of television drama, with many notable productions such as Nobunaga Concerto, Love That Makes You Cry, Summer Nude, and BOSS.
Murase also produced the high profile Moon Lovers series starring the famed Taiwanese actress Lin Chi-Ling and Japanese actor Kimura Takuya.
RUAN Guang Min
Comics ArtistAn artist known for his refreshing style and the ability to convey humor as well as emotional resonance in the same stroke, Ruan is proficient in telling the heartwarming stories pervading through the Taiwanese society. His works betray a deep sense of humanistic solicitude, and a detailed treatment for the delicate nature of the human condition within the family and parent-offspring relationships. The authentic grassroots customs and practices of Taiwan are well represented through the exhaustive and steady portrayal in Ruan's works, and so is the tenderness and gentle sensibility of the island in general. Through the course of decades, Ruan has demonstrated his persistent passion for the graphic arts. Some of his seminal works include: [ The Assassin Chronicles, Dong Huachun Barbershop, The Seasoning of Happiness, Heaven Restaurant (episodes 1-3), king-tshat (issues 1,2), Yong-Jiu Grocery Store series, Railway Sonata: the Four Seasons.]
Ruan has also received multiple accolades including; first place, National Institute of Translation and Compilation Excellent Comics Awards, first place, Government Information Office Drama Comics Awards, and first place, Comic for Young Audlts, Ministry of Culture Golden Comic Awards. Starting in 2011, Ruan has also participated in various international exchange programs, such as the Chambery BD Festival, the Angoulême International Comics Festival and a stint as the artist-in-residence for Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB).

Aho HUANG (Moderator)
President & Editor in Chief of dala publishingAho Huang is an adjunct assistant professor with the Department of Communications Design at the Shih Chien University, and is currently teaching the course The World of Comics. He is also known for his bicycle travel writings.
Huang has been working in the Taiwan comics industry for over 20 years, and is intimately familiar with the development and current status of the industry, having edited hundreds of publications in the genre, served on multiple comic award judging panels, and served as the convener of judging panels for the 2nd and 4th Golden Comic Awards. Huang possess a passion for comics, as demonstrated by his participations in various comic exhibitions, large or small, with destinations ranging from China, Hong Kong, to the US, Germany and France. He has previously spent three years residing in France, and participated in the Angoulême International Comics Festival for more than ten times, and served as the exhibition planner for the Taiwan Pavilion in the Festival from 2012 to 2017.
Huang also took part in holding A Parallel Tale: Taipei in 80s X Hong Kong in 90s comic exhibition in 2013 along with the New Taipei City Fuzhong 15 Animation & Story Gallery and the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The exhibition was further extended and moved to the Hong Kong Comix Home Base in 2014. From November, 2015 to February, 2016, Huang collaborated with the Museum of National Taipei University of Education (MoNTUE) and the Louvre Museum on the BD Louvre exhibition, with the associated publication of Sept rêves du Louvre. Huang also facilitated the sale of the right to the French language version, which culminated in the three-way collaborative work Les rêveurs du Louvre between Taiwan, Japan and France in 2017. Huang has made significant effort in cultivating domestic talents in comics ,promoting Taiwanese works of comics on the international stage, and facilitating international collaboration.

Producer of the Helsinki Comics FestivalOnni Mustonen is the producer of the Helsinki Comics Festival and a member of the Board of Directors of the Finnish Comics Society, a non-profit organisation promoting Finnish comics culture both domestically and internationally. In addition, he works as an editor in the only Finnish language comics journal Sarjainfo and has written numerous articles about comics art, culture, and artists.
CEO of ActuaBD.comDidier Pasamonik is an international comic book expert, publisher, journalist and curator. He is the former C&O of Magic Strip Publishing, General Manager of Humanoïds, senior editor by Cartoon Creations (publisher of the Smurfs), C&O of Bethy publishing where he published comic books from Marvel and DC Comics in France. Didier writes for a variety of magazines and newspapers and has published a multitude of essays on caricature, comics, and popular culture. CEO of ActuaBD.com, International Director of Licenses at LingoZing, he is editor of the special issues about comics of the famous French magazine L’Express. Didier also teaches at the Holocaust Memorial in Paris.
WEE Tian Beng
Comics ArtistWee Tian Beng is the first Singapore comic artist to break into the International Comics Market.
Recently, Tian Beng's comics had been translated into 11 different languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian.
To date, he has created more than 200 volumes of comic works and also the only local comic artist which reached over millions sales.
This is a commercial miracle in Singapore Comics Industry.
In 1990s, he was invited by 2 Hong Kong publishers to create comics’ series for 2 famous novels “ The Adventures of Wisely ” by Mr. Ni Kuang and “ Return Of The Condor Heroes ” by Mr. Louis Cha.
In 1997, Tian Beng received the Asian Manga Prestigious Award at the International Comic Artists Conference held in Seoul, South Korea.
In 1999, he started his major comic series “ The Celestial Zone ” ( total of 5 series; each series can be read as an individual story or a continuation large story line of the 5 series ) The Celestial Zone has become the longest and best selling comic series in Singapore.
In 2001, Tian Beng established TCZ Studio Pte Ltd ( The Creative Zone Studio ).
He is the president of the Comics Society ( Singapore ). The aims of the society is to promote Singapore Original Comics culture, discover and nurture new talents.
In 2016, he received an Award of Creative Excellence ~ Outstanding Contribution to the Singapore Comic Industry from ACAS.”
